Metamorphic Distance is an ongoing series of graphite drawings that explore the experience of visual stillness, depth, and atmosphere. Each piece creates a space where focus can soften and time can slow down. The surface is built through repeated mark-making, inviting viewers to linger, breathe, and drift into a state of quiet attention.
The empty circle that appears in many of the works is not a symbolic center but a placeholder for openness. It may shift, disappear, or take on new forms as the series evolves. What remains is the desire to create porous visual spaces where a viewer can momentarily let go of fixed identity and experience a sense of spaciousness and interconnectedness.
Though the works currently use graphite on paper, the project is not limited to a single format. It may expand in size, material, or color. At its core, Metamorphic Distance is about offering a gentle, immersive space where the viewer can settle into something larger and less defined.
